EPA Section 608 Type II

The EPA Section 608 Type II certification covers high-pressure appliances (compressor discharge pressure above 200 psig). This is the most common certification for residential and light commercial HVAC technicians. Type II appliances include split-system air conditioners, heat pumps, packaged units, and commercial refrigeration with high-side service valves. Type II alone does not authorize work on low-pressure (Type III) appliances.
